Washington Patient Safety Coalition’s Northwest Patient Safety Conference is back May 7, 2019 at the DoubleTree Seattle Airport with a full day of sessions around the theme Raising the Bar on Compassion for Patients and Providers.
The event will show us how compassion fits into every aspect of care and include keynotes and breakout sessions covering topics of empathetic engagement with patients, compassionate care for caregivers, prevention of burnout, innovations in improving diagnoses, a special track on communication & resolution implementation following adverse events, and more, with each talk introduced by a first-hand patient story.

Now seeking interested volunteers to help out. Volunteers get free attendance, lunch, and the opportunity to sit in on sessions and network with fellow healthcare professionals. This year, volunteers need to be able to arrive by 6:30am and stay until at least 12:30. Alternatively, we could use a couple of afternoon volunteers, to go from 1:15 - 4:45. We ask that these requests be received at least a month in advance of the event. We will do our absolute best to accommodate requests, and will be in touch directly should we be unable to. Currently, we are looking into the availability of ASL interpreters and will make every effort to provide these should we receive requests.
Late Bookings and Cancellation Policies
Canceled registrations are refunded the amount paid up through 24 hours prior to the event. All attendee rates incur an additional $25 surcharge if booked within 24 hours of the event (including event walk-in registrations).
